Little Witch in the City: a Sunday Shoe Story

Maybe it’s just the seasonal wanderlust kicking in, but I feel a major change is about to happen. A new phase of my life is about to begin, and come what may I am super excited for it to happen! Part of my heart is still tied to my life in Regina, but like the growing of the daylight hours until they reached a peak today on the Solstice I’ve felt the part of me that craves adventure growing as well. Tomorrow the balance will shift to make the nights longer than the days again, and I expect that the balance in my heart will shift as well. The question is: which side will win in the end? Both hold a certain appeal, and I’ve never been drawn to one more than the other - instead choosing to settle on the light of first dawn or twilight - which could represent a trend towards a more nuanced stability no matter which way the world will turn.

Rainbowfish: a Sunday Shoe Story

Whatever you call yourself - Kings (& Queens) of Summer, beach babes, Saturday People, Wolfpack, free spirits, Pink Ladies - find your sparkle and pass it on. It’s summertime, and nothing goes better with sunshine than a little glitter!

And SPF 110, of course (ain’t nobody got time for sunburns).

Your Mountain is Waiting: a Sunday Shoe Story

When I’m asked upon returning to work after the weekend what I got up to my standard responses generally include some iteration of “watching tv/movies,” “reading books,” and “trying to take over the world.” I may have stolen the last line from Pinky & the Brain, but it’s none the less a Truth. My schemes aren’t quite so grand as actually conquering the world (do you know how much effort it would be to fix the world’s problems and deal with all the idiots who cause them? More effort than it’s worth at this point), but I’m always scheming to take greater control over another part of my world. Whether it’s working towards perfecting my wardrobe, figuring out how to hang a makeshift canopy for my bedroom re-design, starting to learn German in preparation for a trip, or scouring the internet for the perfect job so that I can afford to do all of the latter it all adds up to making my world a better place. They do say after all that you must know yourself to know others, so likewise shouldn’t that translate to perfecting your own world before tackling the rest? I’m doing my part one weekend at a time, and I’m hoping that some day I can get to the rest of it - goddess knows some things would be vastly improved if I was in charge!
