Just Another Leather Jacket?

Each leather jacket has its own personality, or at least mine do. This beauty (a very very vintage Pierre Balmain) caught my co-worker's eye when we were all wandering around the store after we had closed for the day, waiting for management to finish their paperwork, and he insisted that I try it on. I was instantly in love. The asymmetrical zipper, the wide collar, the super-cropped length, and a pervasive smell of 1980s leather sealed the deal, and I knew I had to bring it home. Plus it was like $4 with my staff discount. Talk about your perfect love affair. Most people find this jacket a little odd, but I can see it's a diamond in the rough, and my closet just wouldn't be complete without it.

Walk This Way

Sometimes I like channelling Steven Tyler's bad-boy-of-rock style for a day or two. There's no such thing as mixing too many patterns, metallic snakeskin is encouraged, and the messier your hair the better! We may be jaded with this sweet emotion, but it's not our fault we fell for love in an elevator; we're the generation of permanent vacations afterall ;)

Rock of Ages: the Jeffrey Campbell edition!

You all know that I got a bit gushy after I saw Rock of Ages a while back. The whole fur coat, leather pants, wild hair, animal print thing has always been my favourite look (though I rarely wear it for some reason), and I noticed something a little strange about the latest from shoe-creators-of-awesomeness Jeffrey Campbell: they're all perfect to be decked out for that rock-chic look. Whether you're channelling Guns n' Roses, or just playing pretend rock star like Tom Cruise, fabuous kicks from JC should definitely be your starting point! And just to clear things up: Tom Cruise only wears assless chaps in one (slightly traumatic) scene, so I'm not counting that as a future fashion trend!
